Knife Grinder

The part that I read today fit together with the other parts of the novel because all of the other chapters Jason life is like a roller coaster and in this chapter Jason is been mature and confident about himself. 

Mitchell portray Jason of being brave because in "knife grinder" Jason has been very brave to walk through the forest although he heard about people killing each other.

Mitchell characterized Jason in the chapter as a brave and mature person Mitchell present gypsy in the novel because Jason dad "Micheal" don't like the gypsy at all he says that they theives and  scammers but Jason thinks that they're not thieves they're nice, the gypsy develop Jason character through out this chapter "knife grinder." 

Maggots

David Mitchell choose the title "Maggot" to describe Jason, the word "Maggot" describe Jason as for not standing up for himself. 

Jason emulate the idea of a Magoot because he can't stand up or doing anything for himself without getting bullied or embarrassed. Jason deal with being ostracized by the boys in his school because he try not to be around them but some how they tried to bully Jason. Jason discovered his stammering more worse when he read in front of the class he starts to stammer words and then Gray Drake starts to embarrass him by mocking Jason of his stammering. 

Jason deal with an outcast within his school he feels depressed and embarrassed because all of the other loser kids and popular kids bullied him. 

Bullying and fitting in develop throughout the course of this chapter because you have seen how Jason tries to fit in with other people around him.

In the chapter "relatives" Mitchell portray self-image and social acceptance through the interaction between Jason and Hugo ,Jason feels like he is not good enough and everyone hated him so he looks up to Hugo who he thinks is cool Jason don't  want to look like  a loser in front of Hugo. Even though Hugo steals and made him smoked. Jason still look up to Hugo and wonder if Hugo thinks he is cool Jason his friends look at him as his cousin does.

My thoughts and reactions about bridal path 

Jason was home alone enjoying himself doing stuff he's not supposed to do, because his mom and Julia gone to London and his dad went to a weekend conference and his mom left him the key. Jason start to break the rules and start to go through Julia's room, playing her records then he goes into his father office making prank calls and then he got into his mom room and starts playing around with her things. Then Jason went outside for a walk and he saw a sign says PUBLIC BRIDLE PATH and he decided to follow the path so he can find the mysterious end, on his journey he faced three dobermans and he's scared but he look at the dogs and slowly walk away as he continued walking on his journey he saw his class mates who were there to fight he had a smoke with them leaving one of them with a burst wrist. 

Morgan excused himself saying that he and Jason are going by himself which Jason thank him for, so they can get out the fight Jason and Morgan headed at the same bridle path Jason continues his journey with Morgan then they got to a barn and laid down and they starts to talk about their fathers where Morgan confessed and says that his father drinks to much and is abusive Jason and Morgan talked for awhile and Jason fell asleep, then he woke up and Morgan wasn't there after that Jason went looking for him but he couldn't find Morgan anywhere, so Jason continued his journey back thinking journey Morgan is a traitor then he met Dawn Madden on a tractor she invited him to join her they talk about the farm and the houses she shared a piece of her pastry with him after finishing the pastry Dawn Madden wants him to pay for it. She starts to treaters Jason to tell her step father if he doesn't leave their land. As Jason continues he saw Tom and Debby together and he went on his way and met Morgan who played an April fool prank on him.  Jason asked Morgan why he lefted him alone Morgan reply and says that he doesn't want to him up so Jason ask Morgan if he's still on for the journey and Morgan says yes Jason talks about Tom, Debby and Dawn Madden but he didn't tell him what he see and what happened, because it will become a gossip.  Now as they both continued walking on their journey then they ended up found themselves on a lane with a big mansion which is a loonybin. 

My thoughts and reactions about Bridle path 

Bridle path seems very interesting and very surprising 

It's very surprising that Jason's mom left the key with him because she had never left the key with Jason.  

It's very interesting that Jason had develope from his young childhood to an adulthood Jason do stuff that he's not supposed to do, he broke the rules and did wrongs things like: smoking, going into his father office, answering his dad call, going through Julia room, playing her records and playing around with his mom things. 

Jason is very Adventerous and curious about what he will find mysterious

The central idea throughout hangman is that Jason focus on his stammering and he's being bullied Jason hides this from his friends he is more scared to read in front of his class, because of his stammering Jason's feelings about hangman is that he hates himself for not saying words without stammering. his stammer took the appearance of "hangman" because whenever he wants to say a word Jason feels that hangman is taking over. 

Jason develops the central idea when his teacher Miss Throckmorton been playing hangman. On the blackboard was NIGH-TINGLE and he put his hand up and that was when Jason life divided itself into hangman.

In the chapter "HangMan" Jason had his speech therapy session at the clinic while was his second appointment as he wait on his turn he thinks about people mistaking that stammering and shuttering are the same thing, but Jason stammering begins when his teacher been playing hangman game on the  blackboard with the word "Nightingle" which he cannot pronounced. This is when he refers his stammering as hangman in the therapy office Jason could read without stammering but at school he can't read without stammering so Mrs. De Roo asked Jason's teacher to excuse him from reading at school after dinner Jason and Julia went to their room and Julia starts to accused Jason about her phone calls. The two of them always fight and Julia calls Jason "thing" she doesn't want Jason to use her belongs at all.
